Project Description

Between May 2022 to September 2022, Cloneshouse played a key role in the end-of-term evaluation of the North-West Nigeria Child Eye Health (CEH) Project in Kaduna, Sokoto, and Zamfara States, commissioned by Sightsavers. This evaluation aimed to assess the project’s performance, outputs, and outcomes, providing valuable insights for reflection and future decision-making.

Specific Work Undertaken:

  1. Evaluation Design and Planning:
    • Conducted a comprehensive desk review of project documents and data.
    • Developed evaluation tools in collaboration with Sightsavers to ensure alignment with project objectives.
  2. Data Collection and Analysis:
    • Undertook field visits to project locations across Kaduna, Sokoto, and Zamfara states.
    • Conducted Key Informant Interviews (KIIs) and field surveys to gather qualitative and quantitative data.
    • Analyzed collected data to generate meaningful insights on project impact, efficiency, and sustainability.
  3. Data Triangulation and Reporting:
    • Triangulated data from various sources to ensure validity and reliability of findings.
    • Prepared a detailed evaluation report and an infographic fact sheet summarizing key learnings.
    • Delivered findings during a debrief meeting with Sightsavers to facilitate understanding and ownership of results.

Cloneshouse’s expertise in Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) was pivotal in identifying areas of success, such as improved access to quality eye care, and highlighting challenges like sustainability and efficiency gaps. This work provided actionable recommendations to strengthen future paediatric eye health interventions.
